Here are some important IT updates that will be happening over the summer.
The worldwide technology chip shortage is impacting all orders for information technology. Our orders for laptops, desktops, monitors and printers may be delayed as much as three to six months. If your area has IT needs in the near future, please let me know so I can place these orders in a timely manner.
Box to M365 transition
Consultants are copying individual accounts, which began June 7. Email communications are going to all individuals. Resource accounts will be copied next and IT professionals are contacting the owners. All items will be migrated prior to July 15.
Adobe software renewal
Adobe software renewal occurs July 21. If you own a license, your IT professionals will contact you about renewing your license. After renewal, everyone will login with universal ID- email@example.com. If you have stored data in the Adobe cloud, please save those documents to a different location, as they will be removed on July 21st.
New email management policy and your data security responsibilities
Our university is constantly working to develop technological solutions that better protect institutional data and the information of those we serve. As part of that effort, a new email management policy will now help guide our community in using email more safely and securely. Learn more about the changes.
Microsoft Multi- Factor Authentication (MFA)
On Tuesday, June 29th, the authentication tools for logging in to use the MU Virtual Private Networks (vpn.missouri.edu and anyconnect.missouri.edu) will change to use Microsoft Authentication. Please be aware that on and after this date your login will be <username>@umsystem.edu and it will use the same multi-factor authentication tools that you use for accessing Microsoft 365 and email.
