Angie Hammon’s nomination
Steve does so many things for our organization but no matter how busy he is, he always has time to help others. Steve works tirelessly to help get the courses that Mizzou Academy provides. He is always available to help instructors with their questions and to help them with their courses. When students have questions, he keeps working until they understand how to use the systems and are set up for success. When you ask for his help he always answers, “whatever you need me to do.” Steve is great to work with and an outstanding member of the Mizzou Academy staff.
Tamara Regan’s nomination
No matter the amount of work on Steven’s plate, he always assists whenever called up on. His work ethic is evident by meeting deadlines and providing timely assistance to a variety of users (students, guardians, teachers, administrator, employees, etc.). He’s always thinking outside the box, striving for the best user experience possible. He’s detail oriented, ensuring all stakeholders involved in a resolution are properly informed, fully taking care of the situation, not leaving something unprocessed. No matter the issue, the time, or the complexity, Steven always jumps in with both feet, which is why he has always been one of my go-to people for assistance.
Established by former Interim Dean Rose Porter, the Porter Graham Staff Excellence Award celebrates the dedication, resolve, leadership, and overall excellence of individuals making significant contributions to the MU College of Education. Rose Porter has always been a strong advocate for staff, noting that “they keep the place running.” Jill Williams-Graham (M ED 1990) and her husband Dr. Steven Graham, Sr. Associate Vice-President, UM System, joined Dr. Rose Porter and her husband Dr. Michael Porter, recognizing the immense impacts staff have in the running of the college.
