Dear College of Education Members of the Class of 2020:
The Mizzou Commencement and the celebrations surrounding it mean so much to our College of Education graduates, their families, as well as our faculty, professional staff, and administrators. Honestly, it is my favorite day of the year.
I know that you and your families are disappointed that we will not be able to attend the commencement ceremony on the Mizzou campus in May 2020. My own son is also a member of the Class of 2020, so I know the emotions first hand.
What does this mean? Those who complete their degree requirements will graduate in May. We will honor your accomplishments using a variety of approaches, including some virtually in the short term. We have a College of Education committee generating ideas, and we need your insights! We will be sending a survey link to collect your ideas.
We hope that you and your family will join us on campus to attend a live Commencement ceremony when we are able to come back together. We want you to have the opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments as the Mizzou Education Class of 2020 with others who have been part of your Mizzou experience. We will be back in touch with more details as they become available.
We know that College of Education students are prepared for a lifetime of victories, as well as adjustments and setbacks. You will forever be remembered as the resilient Class of 2020 that served and impacted your communities in ways never anticipated.
