The Professional Staff Council would like to congratulate the December Porter Graham Staff Excellence Award recipient: Tristan Halper! Tristan is a College of Education Office Support Assistant for the office of Advising & Certification.
Kelly Benson’s Nomination
With excitement I nominate Tristan Halper! Tristan has an amazing work ethic. She eagerly assists with anything and happily takes advantage of opportunities to contribute above and beyond. Tristan took ownership of creating a Canvas Organization site. She sought out the training needed to make it an effective communication tool to replace the email newsletter and be a relevant resource for our students. This is only one example, I have so many more (!!!), but this form limits me to only 800 characters! I regularly seek out Tristan’s opinion as I know she will be thoughtful in her feedback and present creative ideas. I am extremely fortunate to work with Tristan because she is a professional, and she cares about the work we do and that makes all the difference to us and the people we serve!
Michelle Bollinger’s Nomination
Tristan is always willing to go above and beyond, and does so at such a short notice at times. This spring, I had quite a few last minute events, as well as events that took place at the same time, and when I needed Tristan’s assistance, even at the last minute (literally), she came through. She never once complained about the tasks, but instead had a smile on her face. I appreciate Tristan’s professionalism and willingness to give of her time, whether early morning or late afternoon, and everything in between. Not only is her work ethic impressive, her approach to her work with her colleagues is conducive to a successful work environment. Thank you for your time, Tristan – you are appreciated!!!
Mary Laffey’s Nomination
Tristan is one of those one in a million hires you hope you get to make in your lifetime. She is bright, articulate, customer service oriented and a learner most of all. She is always willing to help and support whatever you need. When she doesn’t know the answer or how to do something, she will figure it out. Tristan has a natural way of making you feel welcomed and trusted in her presence. Her smile and genuine good nature with some humor are delightful to experience. We are fortunate to have her work in the COE with our students and employees. She is always dependable and helpful in a kind manner which is so reassuring.
Shawna Nichols’ Nomination:
Tristan Halper IS the front line for the Advising Office. Tristan has always been an effective communicator with many stakeholders; whether it be faculty, staff, students, alumni, or school personnel. She is friendly, respectful and helpful. Tristan makes suggestions for improving office processes. Students who enter the office see her smiling face and feel welcome, and she is always helpful in answering the questions or finding the correct person for them to see. Tristan volunteered to be part of the Townsend/Hill team of staff members who went through certification training for the new AED equipment and Bleedkit that will be installed in Townsend Hall. She is always willing to help out a fellow SS&AA team member, and Tristan truly embodies the values of the COE in everything she does.
