Victoria (Tori) Mondelli

Dr. Victoria (Tori) Mondelli is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri – Columbia, and she is Director of the University’s Teaching for Learning Center. Dr. Mondelli earned her undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, her Masters from Fordham University, and her Ph.D. from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
Dr. Mondelli is a former history professor with prior appointments at The Cooper Union, Brooklyn College, and the Borough of Manhattan Community College. In 2010, she transitioned to higher education administration to become Director of the Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship. In 2012, she joined Mercy College as the Director of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. In 2013, she became the Executive Director of the Office of Teaching Excellence and Engaged Learning, with oversight for the Faculty Centers, and the Learning Centers at Mercy’s three campuses (Manhattan, Bronx, and Dobbs Ferry). In 2018, she joined the University of Missouri as Founding Director of the Teaching for Learning Center.
Her research and teaching interests include postsecondary inclusive and evidence-based teaching and learning, and the scholarship of educational development. She promotes innovative active-learning through the scholarly application of serious games and playful exercises. She is co-author of the forthcoming book, The ALLURE of Play: The Educator’s Design Guide to Active Learning Exercises and Games.
