Bio

Dr. Terri Steffes is a consultant for the Heart of Missouri Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) and a field representative for the Network of Educator Effectiveness (NEE). She leads all Missouri Teacher Development System projects for the RPDC including Teacher Academy, Teacher Academy Grads, Mentoring, and Beginning Teachers Yr. 1 and Yr. 2 Support. Her doctorate dissertation from Saint Louis University centers on writing effective Section 504 plans. Her goal is to help K-12 educators understand and use best practices to work smarter but not harder. When not consulting, Dr. Steffes works with administrators through NEE to help understand and apply the Missouri Teacher Standards and the Missouri Learning Standards to teacher evaluation. Dr. Steffes was the first teacher in Missouri to be awarded National Board Certification and served as a Missouri’s STARR teacher. She was nominated for Jefferson City and Columbia’s Teacher of the Year. In addition, she was Zonta’s Yellow Rose Finalist in 2017. Upon completing her dissertation, she was inducted into Golden Key at SLU.
