Dr. Rob Jones (MU ‘20) joined The Missouri Education Business Incubator as its founding Director. Prior to becoming the founding director of the MEBI, Rob earned his doctoral degree from the Missouri School of Journalism, where his award-winning research focused on brand management. He has since used his research to lead product and brand strategy for several organizations, including The Associated Press and Alfred Friendly Press Partners.
Rob’s career began as a middle school English teacher while serving as a corps member for Teach For America, Las Vegas. Driven by the belief that opportunity should be equitably distributed to students, Rob works tirelessly to help provide equitable educational opportunity for all students.
Rob earned his Ph.D. in strategic communication from the Missouri School of Journalism, where his dissertation focused on digital brand strategy with multi-ethnic audiences. He also earned his M.Ed. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (‘15), where he built a reading curriculum for middle school students. Prior to that, Rob earned his BFA in Communication from Truman State University (‘13), where he covered Bulldog sports as the university’s sports anchor.
Rob’s hobbies include traveling, reading, and going to concerts.
