Marcia Edgar graduated from Graceland University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading. In 2006 she obtained a master’s degree in Elementary Administration from William Woods University. She began as a parent educator for Parents as Teachers and worked with gifted students. She then taught in the 5th grade classroom. After teaching elementary students, she found her true passion was in special education. She worked as a speech implementer, obtained a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy, and became certified in Special Education. This led her to become a high school special education teacher for the next 10 years. After 17 years in public education, she became a Pre-ETS Specialist with the University of Missouri. She says this is the most rewarding experience and she is able to help her students build the foundation for their lives after high school.
