Lorie Rost is a Missouri Leadership Development System specialist for the Heart of Missouri.

A retired elementary teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent, Lorie holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and a master’s and specialist degree in elementary administration from the University of Central Missouri. Lorie served 27 years of her career in the Jefferson City School District in Jefferson City, Missouri.

As Missouri Leadership Development System specialists, the team provides a true system of support for our education leaders from Aspiring to Transformational levels. The team presents the MLDS content and Coaching Labs in regional cohorts, as well as in district-led professional development initiatives. Through the work of MLDS, paid mentors can also be provided for the newest administrators in the Heart of Missouri region.

The MLDS content covers topics of Critical Firsts, Instructional Leadership, Understanding Self and Others, Decision- Making, School Culture, Time Management, Leading Change, Communication, Human Resource Development and Leadership Systems. The MLDS content is co-authored with Mike Rutherford, who provides all MLDS specialists with facilitation skills to share with leaders.
