Joy is a postdoctoral fellow with the Prosocial Development and Education Research Lab under the supervision of Dr. Christi Bergin. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Missouri in the Department of Human Development and Family Science. Her work examines prosocial behaviors as a marker of positive youth adjustment across cultures. Joy currently leads the ED (IES)-funded vSchool Project which aims to develop and validate a school-friendly, game-based assessment of prosocial behavior for 4th-6th grade to measure the effects of social-emotional learning interventions.
