Joel provides pre-employment transition services to students attending high school campuses located in the Springfield metropolitan area. Prior to joining the MU Pre-ETS specialist team, he worked as an educator for 29 years with the Springfield Public School District (SPS). For the first half of his career, Joel taught regular education classes. In the second half of his teaching career, Joel worked with the transition needs of Springfield students through various community-based district transition programs offered by SPS. Joel is Youth Mental Health trained/certified. He has a Master of Science in Education Administration and Master of Education in Secondary Education.

Joel serves the following school districts: Dayspring; Faith Christian; Great Circle (Springfield); Greene County Youth Academy; Kickapoo; Parkview; Republic; and Study Alternative.
