Candice Robb

  • Improvement Consultant - K-3 Literacy

Candice Robb is a K-3 Literacy Improvement Consultant for the Heart of Missouri RPDC. She is a retired elementary educator with 15 years of experience in the classroom. Candice is a National Board Certified teacher in Literacy Reading-Language Arts for Early and Middle Childhood.

Candice had the pleasure of teaching elementary grades 1-4, and occasionally taught two grade levels combined. Candice began her teaching career in Northeast Arkansas for her first six years and taught her last nine years in the state of Alaska. She spent two years of her Alaskan tenure in the beautiful cruise ship port of Ketchikan, and seven years in a remote fishing village in the Aleutian Islands. There, Candice began her Science of Reading journey with the CORE Online Elementary Reading Academy. She saw firsthand the amazing positive impact on the literacy success of young learners. Candice was a Literacy Team leader, guiding her colleagues through an RTI/MTSS approach grounded in literacy best practices.

As a part of the Heart of Missouri Literacy team, Candice facilitates LETRS trainings in Columbia and on location at school sites throughout the region. Candice assists administrators and literacy leaders in planning quality literacy professional development for faculty, and in navigating the latest DESE literacy guidelines including curriculum selection, reimbursement, and assessments.

Candice now calls Jefferson City home, where she lives with her husband (also a retired Alaska educator), their young son and daughter, and one incorrigible Golden Retriever.
