Bio
Barbara Mitchell, Ph.D. has been involved with special education for the past 18 years. She began her career as a classroom teacher for students with disabilities teaching in elementary and middle school special education settings. Currently Barbara is an Assistant Research Professor for the University of Missouri. Her work focuses on Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (E/BD), School-wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS), and classroom management. Barbara is affiliated with the Office of Special Education Programs National Technical Assistance Center for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (pbis.org), serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Special Education at the University of Missouri.
