Alicia Long

Alicia K. Long is an academic librarian, educator, and scholar. She is an adjunct instructor at the University of South Florida, School of Information and the Access Services Supervisor at the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Libraries. Alicia’s work has focused on access and diversity in academic libraries, public library programs, and collection development, with an emphasis in diversity in children’s and young adult’s literature. Alicia’s research interests are centered around critical pedagogies in higher education, diversity in the library field, and library services to diverse communities, particularly Latinx.

Alicia has a Masters in Library & Information Science and undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science from the University of South Florida, and teaching degrees from an Institute of Higher Education in Argentina, and she looks forward to developing her scholarship as a student in the Ph.D. in Information Science and Learning Technologies at Mizzou.
