A Way With Words and Numbers is a community-based non-profit program that teams undergraduate students from the University of Missouri with local children to improve literacy and mathematics skills. The program provides tutoring services in 14 public elementary schools and after-school tutoring at the Daniel Boone Regional Library. Tutors help 2,500 learners annually.

Mizzou student tutors are assigned to school classrooms and community sites to provide an extra set of hands during reading or math lessons. The program continues to evolve to better meet the needs of the youth in our community.
