Fitness for Well-Being

Fitness for Well-Being
Description: A physically active lifestyle enables people to play together, fight disease without drugs, and "get high" in a positive and healthy way. A consistent, well-planned, and carefully orchestrated fitness program contributes to a healthier and happier life. Exercise helps reduce stress, decrease body fat, increase lean muscle tissue, prevent osteoporosis, improve self-esteem, and create "a sound mind in a sound body." The list is endless. Being fit can help you socially by giving you the confidence that is necessary for making new friends. Fitness can help you mentally as you learn to set and achieve goals, one by one. Being physically fit can increase your energy level, as well as your muscular strength and endurance. These benefits will often occur within a short period of time after beginning your program. This course provides you with the tools you need to "cure" yourself. It is full of practical information that can, and should, be applied to your daily life. As you read, remember that fitness is personal. A fitness program will only be successful if you are willing to do what it takes to follow through.
