Mathematics Education

The mathematics education program is comprehensive, including undergraduate teacher certification at the middle, secondary and post-baccalaureate levels, an online master’s program for teachers, and a doctoral program ranked #4 in the nation.

Mathematics education faculty members at Mizzou have a long and distinguished track record of research, state and national service, and leadership in mathematics teacher education. They have served or are currently serving in the following roles:

  • President of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE)
  • Board Member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)
  • Chair of the NCTM Research Committee (two times)
  • Steering Committee Member of the North American Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PMENA)
  • Writing Chair for the NCTM Principles and Standards for School Mathematics
  • Editor of the Handbook of Research on Mathematics Teaching and Learning
  • Host of the Mathematics Education Podcast
