Region 2 RPDC
The Heart of Missouri RPDC offers high-quality professional development opportunities to Mid-Missouri educators, primarily in the form of workshops, consulting, and leading study groups. We offer single introductory workshops like Beginning Teacher Assistance and do year-long initiatives like Satellite Academy. By request we will work with schools in long term work such as Professional Learning Communities, Marzano teaching strategies and team collaboration training.
Through the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal, Missouri schools, the MU Colleges of Education and of Arts and Science, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Regional Professional Development Center aspire to simultaneously renew Pre-K through twelfth grade education and improve teacher preparation by providing information and provoking critical thinking around standards-based education.
The Missouri Network for Educational Improvement (MNEI) is a joint initiative of the MU College of Education, Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA), Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA) and Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA). The network is designed to help districts strategically and intentionally coordinate continuous improvement efforts using knowledge management techniques developed by the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program (BPEP). MNEI also works cooperatively with the Excellence in Missouri Foundation (EiMF) – the state quality award program that is based on the Baldrige criteria.
Recent legislative changes in the Workforce Innovation & Opportunities Act (WIOA) have created new opportunities for schools to receive increased assistance from Regional Transition Specialists through a program called Pre-Employment Transition Services.
