English education (MEd)

This degree is a master of education in learning, teaching and curriculum with and emphasis in English education.

The MEd in English education gives you a background in teaching reading and writing, adolescent literature and media literacy. Additionally, this program offers you the opportunity to expand your teaching skills and develop an expertise in lesson planning, curriculum creation, classroom management and diversity.

Degree Requirements

To receive a MEd degree in English education, you must complete 33 hours of graduate-level coursework. This coursework includes 18 hours of core courses in English education, a three-hour research seminar, a three-hour developmental psychology course, and three three-hour electives.

You must meet two sets of minimum qualifications in order to be considered for admission:
