The College of Education Annual Awards Banquet recognizes the achievements of young professionals, alumni and others who have made outstanding contributions to the college’s professional concerns, goals and objectives, or outstanding contributions to another profession after receiving a degree from Mizzou Ed.

Nominations

Award nominations for 2017 will be accepted Aug. 1 – October 15, 2016.

Nominations may be submitted online or via mail using the nomination form. (The online link will be activated Aug. 1.)

College of Education Alumni Organization Award Categories:

Outstanding Career Awards

For each of these awards, all candidates must meet the criteria listed here in addition to those for the specified award.

  • Must be a graduate of the MU College of Education.
  • Must be practicing in the field of Education (broadly defined as any field supported by a degree from the College of Education)
  • Work demonstrates significant commitment that reflects the goals and values of the MU College of Education (found at education.missouri.edu under About > Mission & Strategic Plan)
  • Demonstrates achievement in the field through leadership, service, mentorship and collaboration
  • Contributions have made a meaningful impact to their work environment and/or community.

Early Career Award: Candidates for this award must also:

  • Have completed a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of seven (7) years of professional service since the most recent MU degree was earned.
  • Demonstrate potential and promise for continued growth and success in their field

Professional Achievement Award: Candidates for this award must also:

  • Must have completed a minimum of eight(8) years of professional service since the most recent MU degree was earned
  • Have demonstrated tangible accomplishments with positive impact and results
  • Demonstrate potential and promise for continued growth and success in their field

Lifetime Achievement Award: Candidates for this award must also:

  • Have completed a minimum of 20 years professional service in their field
  • Have distinction in their field and have demonstrated outstanding success in their work throughout their career
  • Must be a recognized leader and have made a significant impact in their field

Honorary Alumnus Award

This award is to honor an individual who/whose:

  • Is not a graduate of the MU College of Education but whose loyalty, involvement and identification with the MU College of Education model those of an outstanding graduate;
  • Is practicing in the field of Education (broadly defined as any field supported by a degree from the College of Education)
  • Work demonstrates significant commitment that reflects the goals and values of the MU College of Education (found at education.missouri.edu under About > Mission & Strategic Plan)
  • Work Demonstrates achievement in the field through leadership, service, mentorship and collaboration with contributions that have made a meaningful impact to their work environment and/or community
  • Must have shown exemplary support for advancing the quality of education/Mizzou Ed field of study at the state, national or international level;
  • Must be nominated by an alumnus of the MU College of Education or a member of the MU College of Education faculty, administration or staff.

Outstanding Service Award

This award will honor an individual who/whose:

  • Is a graduate of the MU College of Education
  • Is practicing in a field outside of education (is/was not a classroom teacher, guidance counselor, school administrator, librarian, etc.)
  • Work demonstrates significant commitment that reflects the goals and values of the MU College of Education (found at education.missouri.edu under About > Mission & Strategic Plan)
  • Work demonstrates achievement in the field through leadership, service, mentorship and collaboration with contributions that have made a significant, meaningful impact to their work environment and/or community
