The College of Education Annual Awards Banquet recognizes the achievements of young professionals, alumni and others who have made outstanding contributions to the college’s professional concerns, goals and objectives, or outstanding contributions to another profession after receiving a degree from Mizzou Ed.

Nominations

Award nominations for 2016 will be accepted through Oct. 15, 2015.

Nominations may be submitted online or via mail using the nomination form.

Since 1957, the college has recognized 284 men and women for their contributions to education.

College of Education Alumni Organization Award Categories:

Outstanding Young Professional Award

  • Must have completed a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of seven (7) years of professional service since the most recent MU degree was earned
  • Must be an alumnus of the MU College of Education
  • Selection is made by the College of Education Alumni Board

Outstanding Achievement Award

  • Must have made an outstanding contribution to a profession other than education
  • Must be an alumnus of the MU College of Education
  • Selection is made by the College of Education Alumni Board

Citation of Merit for Outstanding Achievement and Meritorious Service

  • Must have demonstrated outstanding achievement and meritorious service to professions served by the College of Education (i.e. teacher education, counseling, library/media, administration, higher education)
  • Must be an alumnus or faculty/staff member of the MU College of Education
  • Selection is made by the College of Education Alumni Board

Honorary Alumni Award

  • Must have made recognized contributions to the professional concerns, goals, and objectives of the MU College of Education or to the advancement of the quality of education at the state or national level
  • Must be nominated by an alumnus of the MU College of Education or a member of the MU College of Education faculty or administration
  • Cannot be an alumnus of the MU College of Education
  • Selection is made by the College of Education Alumni Board
