Dr. Sherri Thomas is a School Improvement Consultant for the Heart of Missouri for Missouri School Wide Positive Behavior Support.

A former middle school principal, assistant principal, and teacher, Sherri holds a bachelor’s degree Education with a Middle School Certificate in Social Studies and ELA from Hannibal-LaGrange University. She has a master’s in education and Curriculum from Truman University, A Specialist in Curriculum and Leadership from Union University, and a Doctor of Education and Administration from William Woods. During her 31 year career she has been both Assistant Principal and Principal of the year for the South Central Region.

As a former Principal, Assistant Principal, and teacher leader Sherri has 31 years of secondary experience in all three tiers of SWPBS, Behavior Intervention, Curriculum leadership and development, Cognitive Coaching, Rigor/Relevance Framework, and Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity training. She was a participant as a middle school teacher and administrator in the implementation of SWPBS. She believes in the importance of reinforcing academic and behavioral success and the fidelity of SWPBS for the entire school community.

Sherri is a certified Emotional Poverty Trainer and recently completed a course from UMSL with credential recognition in: Inclusive Language, Overcoming Obstacles to Inclusion, Creating a Culture of Inclusion, and Advancing Diversity Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace. Sherri has been part of the MO- SWPBS consultant team that has district and building level state recognition schools.
