Joanne Rainey

Joanne Rainey has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a master’s degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology, both from the University of Missouri. She started her professional life as a Case Manager for the Department of Mental Health working with people with developmental disabilities and then transitioned into owning and operating a residential program for adults with disabilities. She has operated this residential supported living home for the past 18 years. While operating this home, Joanne has worked as a substance abuse counselor with families and couples at the Phoenix Program as well as owning and operating an early childhood program working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. Joanne has been with the Horizons Team serving Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled since its inception in 2016. She has a passion and heart for the students with the most significant disabilities. Joanne is proud of the progress she has seen in this program thus far and is excited to see it continue to reach even more students, classrooms, and schools in the future.

Joanne serves the following Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled: BW Robinson (Rolla); Delmar Coble (Columbia); Dogwood Hills (Eldon); Kirchner (Jefferson City); and Ozark Hills (Salem). She also serves Life Skills classrooms at Hallsville; Mexico; and Southern Boone.
