        University of Missouri-Columbia Campus Resources

  • The Social Science Statistics Center has as one of its primary goals the providing of statistical consulting and expertise to persons from other departments throughout the MU campus.   
  • MU's Office of Research fosters an academic environment in which the campus' research, instruction, service, and economic development missions are practiced with the joy and rigor of original discovery, creativity, innovation and scholarship. The Office of Research works toward three main goals:
    • To facilitate the ability of MU's faculty, students and staff to engage in research, discovery, creation, scholarship and innovation,
    • To create a research-centered academic environment by developing and articulating connections between MU’s research and all of the institution’s other activities, and by creating a broader foundation for research support with internal and external stakeholders,
    • To help grow and financially sustain MU's research enterprise.
  • The Office of Sponsored Program Administration is a service organization whose mission is to enhance and facilitate University research and external funding by providing services, in a timely and professional manner, to all persons involved with sponsored program activities.
  • The Campus Institutional Review Board reviews all human subject research applications from MU campus departments conducting human subject research. These applications are primarily from departments intending to conduct research in the social and behavioral sciences. The Campus IRB also reviews human subject research proposals which are conducted at the University of Missouri system level.
  • The Office of Intellectual Property Administration the central Office of Intellectual Property Administration is a System office that supports the campus offices through development of standard policies and procedures, maintenance and support of a common technology management database, creation of standard forms and agreements, accounting, and intellectual property protection.
  • The Illumination Magazine is a bi-annual magazine devoted to the research, scholarship and creative achievement at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
