MU NSTA Student Chapter

Welcome to the MU Chapter of the National Science Teachers Association! Founded in 2003, our chapter is over 50 members strong, and was recently received honorable mention for the Chancellor’s Excellence Awards—from over 500 MU student organizations!

Just as NSTA’s mission is “…to promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all,” the purpose of the University of Missouri Student NSTA Chapter is to help prospective teachers take advantages of the support resources available from NSTA, provide additional professional development in science to prospective teachers, and help prospective teachers connect with others like themselves at universities and colleges across the United States and Canada. 

The MU NSTA chapter sponsors the Experimental Design event each year at the Missouri State Science Olympiad, sponsors members to travel to state, regional, and national science conferences, brings in award-winning teachers to share their tips, and takes fun field trips to places like the Youzeum and MU Observatory!
