I am a Master’s student with emphasis in Elementary Science Education. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary science education from Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey. After graduation, I was awarded a scholarship given by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education to pursue my masters and PhD degrees in the United States. My interests include elementary science teacher development, inquiry-based science education, and teacher and students’ views regarding nature of science. In the long term, I would like a faculty position teaching best practices to future elementary science teachers in Turkey. I enjoy spending my free time watching films related to history as well as spending time with friends.

Nattida Promyod (Entered 2007)
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Prince of Songkhla University, Thailand. After graduation I was employed by the Department of Physics at the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) in Bangkok as Academic Staff. IPST is a government agency that provides professional development (PD) for all K-12 science teachers in Thailand. In spring 2007, IPST awarded me a scholarship to attend MU to earn a master’s and doctoral degree in science education. My long term goal is to return to Thailand, continue my work with IPST, and improve the quality of PD for secondary science teachers in Thailand. I look forward to new experiences and learning new things as I work to accomplish my goals. I know that there will be many challenges awaiting me. I will do my best to succeed.
