Welcome to the MU Science Education Program


In 1991, the Southwestern Bell Foundation awarded the MU College of Education a $1 million gift to establish a model science teaching laboratory and programs to improve science education. In 1999, MU received Science Education Mission Enhancement funding to improve science education, K-16, through the collaboration of the College of Education and three science departments - Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, and Physics & Astronomy. MU science education programs include Master's, Education Specialist and Ph.D. degree. You can find MU science education programs in this site.

Science Education Faculty 

Science Education Faculty are nationally and internationally recognized scholars known for their research excellence. Research takes place in K-12 and college classrooms where science education faculty members and graduate researchers, in collaboration with scientists and K-12 teachers, conduct studies of science teaching and learning. We are engaged in a number of research and teacher enhancement projects funded by external sources, such as:
