Responding to a critical mass of scholars interested in the psychological study of men and masculinity at the University of Missouri, Dr. Glenn Good founded the Men and Masculinity Research Center (MMRC) in 2007.

The MMRC is dedicated to advancing knowledge in the psychology of men through research and publication.

To fulfill this mission, the MMRC provides individuals from around the world with the opportunity to participate online in academic research around such topics as:

  • fatherhood
  • male veterans
  • men and sports
  • men and sexuality
  • men and substance use
  • the victimization of male children and adults
  • male-sensitive interventions and mental health marketing
  • boys' and men's relationships with girls and women and with each other
  • the processes and consequences of growing up as a man within and beyond American society and its impact on men's health, behavior, interpersonal relationships, emotional development, violence, and psychological well-being
  • how the above topics function across the life span, across racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, and gender identity group, across national boundaries, and across historical time.

If you would like to lend your opinion and voice to the study of men and masculinity, please return to the MMRC home page, where you can select from among our current studies.  Also, consider joining the MMRC Alerts Google group to receive email alerts whenever a new study participation opportunity is posted to the MMRC website.

If you are an undergraduate, graduate student, or professor interested in doing research in this area, please contact us to learn how you can become involved in the Center's work.
