Residential Life
Students find academic support and meet like-minded friends when they join a Freshman Interest Group or a Learning Community. Both groups consist of students who share the same academic or career interests.
Students in the Education Freshman Interest Groups, which typically consist of 15-20 students:
- Live together in Mark Twain Hall.
- Take three core courses together.
- Take part in a one-credit weekly FIG Proseminar.
- Attend cultural events related to your shared interests.
Learning Communities expand to include Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors with similar academic or career interests. The College of Education sponsors a learning community, which brings together education students of all ages with common interests. Living in the same residence hall, the students are led by a Community Advisor in group activities related to education.
