Alumni Award Nominations
Please follow the criteria below and submit your nomination for our Annual Alumni Awards by October 15, 2013.
Outstanding Young Professional Award
- Must have completed a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of seven (7) years of professional service.
- Must be an alumnus/alumnae of the MU College of Education.
- Must have made an outstanding contribution to a profession other than education.
- Must be an alumnus/alumnae of the MU College of Education.
- Must have demonstrated outstanding achievement and meritorious service to professions served by the College of Education.
- Must be an alumnus/alumnae or faculty/staff member of the MU College of Education.
- Must have made recognized contributions to the professional concerns, goals, and objectives of the College of Education or to the advancement of the quality of education at the state or national level.
- Must be nominated by an alumnus/alumnae of the MU College of Education or a member of the MU College of Education faculty or administration.
- Demonstrated evidence of outstanding contributions/support for the field of education or College of Education.
- Recipient may be an individual or organization.
- Individuals need not be graduates/alumni of the College of Education.
The nomination will need to include the nominee name, work and home addresses, phone number, email address, current position and employer and, if possible, dates of attendance or graduation from the MU College of Education (if applicable). In addition, supporting information that includes the items listed below should be included.
Supporting Information:
- Brief statement of candidate's contributions that qualify him/her for the award
- Positions held
- Successful teaching experience or experience in their chosen profession
- Significant contributions, for example:
- Contributions in the area of curriculum development
- Professional writing
- Educational innovations
- Impact on their profession
- Service to professional organizations
- Service to the College of Education Alumni Organization
- Other service to the professions served by the College of Education (i.e., member of board of education, service to PTA or similar organization, service in a department of education at the state or national level, service on national professional library association, fraternal organization, public library board, etc.)
- Other service to education or the community
- Significant attention attracted to the College of Education
Award nominations for 2013 were accepted through October 15, 2012. Online nomination forms for recognition in 2014, will be available July 1 – October 15, 2013.
