The MU College of Education Alumni Awards recognize the achievements of young professionals, alumni, and of those who have made outstanding contributions to the college’s professional concerns, goals and objectives or have made outstanding contributions to another profession after receiving their degree from the college. Submit an award nomination today.

Since 1957, when the first award was given, 236 men and women have been recognized for their contributions to education. Please take a look at our past award  winner list.

The College of Education expresses its pride and appreciation for these individuals and their service to higher education and/or their chosen profession. It focuses attention on these outstanding persons and their accomplishments, and the contributions these individuals have made or are making on the field of education or society in general. 

Each year the College of Education expresses it pride in these outstanding individuals by sponsoring a banquet where these individuals are recognized and receive a plaque.  The recipients’ families and friends are invited to make this a memorable occasion.

MU College of Education Alumni Organization Award Categories:

Outstanding Young Professional Award

• Must have completed a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of seven (7) years of professional service.
• Must be an alumnus/alumnae of the MU College of Education.

Outstanding Achievement Award

• Must have made an outstanding contribution to a profession other than education.
• Must be an alumnus/alumnae of the MU College of Education.

Citation of Merit for Outstanding Achievement and Meritorious Service

• Must have demonstrated outstanding achievement and meritorious service to professions served by the College of Education.
• Must be an alumnus/alumnae or faculty/staff member of the MU College of Education.

Honorary Alumni Award

• Must have made recognized contributions to the professional concerns, goals, and objectives of the College of Education or to the advancement of the quality of education at the state or national level.
• Must be nominated by an alumnus/alumnae of the MU College of Education or a member of the MU College of Education faculty or administration.

Friend of the College of Education Award

Dean Dan Clay is seeking nominations for the Distinguished Friend of the College Award. The Award will be presented at the Alumni Awards banquet each spring.

Criteria

1. Demonstrated evidence of outstanding contributions/support for the field of education or College of Education.
2. Recipient may be an individual or organization.
3. Individuals need not be graduates/alumni of the College of Education.
