NATIONAL RANKINGS

The MU-Columbia College of Education is consistently ranked among the top colleges of education in the nation. This year, the college's rank rose, making MU best in Missouri and third in the Big 12 Conference. 

In the 2008 U.S.News & World Report rankings, the college ranks 28th among more than 100 colleges and schools of education. In these same rankings, the College of Education’s graduate programs were rated among the best in the nation. Specifically, MU's graduate program in Counseling Psychology / Personnel Service, ranks sixth.

  • Known for our cutting-edge research, the college has averaged $20,280,094 in externally funded research grants over the past five years.
  • In the area of research expenditures, we show a 525% increasebetween FY2001 and FY2005, from $646,000 to $3.39 million.
  • In the area of instruction and public service we show a 128% increase across the same time period from $10.5 million to $13.4 million. (The College of Education leads all other academic units on campus in this area of instruction and public service)
