Welcome to Mizzou's College of Education
Now is an exciting time: The year 2008 marks the college’s 140th anniversary. Our first mission was to prepare
teachers for public schools. Today, we tackle the many issues in education by preparing experts for each field, including:
- Counseling,
- School leadership,
- School psychology,
- Library science,
- Educational policy,
- Special education,
- Educational technology,
- Teacher preparation.
Our goal is to train future professionals how to truly make a difference through academic programming, research and discovery, and service to the broader community.
USNews & World Report consistently ranks the college’s graduate programs among the best in the country. Home to more than 20 outreach services and research centers, we execute innovative, multidisciplinary programs that address society’s complex problems. After one year of graduation, nine of ten students are placed in their profession.
MU’s partnership with over 22 Missouri school districts offers diverse field experience and research settings for the college’s students and faculty. The partnership supports educational reform throughout the state’s urban and rural areas.
