Admission Requirements

  • ACT composite score of 22 or higher
  • GPA requirements
    • 2.5 GPA with less than 30 credits completed
    • 2.6 with 30-59 credits completed
    • 2.75 with 60+ credits completed

Degree Requirements

It is recommended to have begun your science coursework such as Chemistry 1310 and Biology 1500.

How to Apply

New to MU or Changing Your Major to Education:

  • Students new to MU can find information on applying to the University here.
  • Current MU students may meet with an Academic Advisor in the College of Education in 102 Hill Hall to determine their eligibility for transferring divisions.

To Phase II (upper level) Education courses:

You will receive a message in your mizzou e-mail account when you are enrolled in TDP 2000 and/or TDP2040 with a link to complete the application for Phase II.

For your degree:

Students complete the application for their degree during the first or second semester of their junior year. Degree checks are completed approximately one year prior to the expected graduation date so students have adequate time to complete all require course work. You will receive an e-mail message with a link to the application for degree.

For your Teaching Certificate

Students must apply for their Teaching Certificate 2-4 months before they graduate. Information on the application process may be found here.

Fees and Financial Aid

MU is an affordable place for all students ­ there are a variety of federal financial aid programs, along with assistance from the University. The College of Education also offers scholarships for its undergraduate students.
