Middle School Education
Mizzou's Middle School Education Programs lead to certification for grades five through nine in a core area of study and an optional area.
Within your middle school major, students must select a core and an optional curriculum from the following areas of study: (Option areas do not appear on transcripts)
- Core areas of study: mathematics, science, social studies or English/language arts.
- Optional areas of study: mathematics, science, social studies, English/language arts, or art.
Middle school education majors spend time in the field of both their core area of study and option area. During your time at Mizzou, you will take teacher development courses that focus on teaching both subject areas.
