Elementary Education
MU's Elementary Education Program prepares students to work with children in first through sixth grade. The program leads to Missouri State Teacher Certification in Elementary Education.
Courses are taught by Faculty members from MU's College of Education. They deliver an extensive curriculum to ensure students obtain the knowledge needed to succeed in the classroom after graduation.
In this program, you will complete a unique combination of classroom preparation and field experience covering vital information that will be valuable in an elementary classroom. You will integrate theory with practice through field experiences, which begin during sophomore year. Additionally, elementary education majors spend their entire senior year doing an on-site internship in a Missouri Partnership for Educational Renewal elementary school.
