Benefits of Becoming a MMEET Scholar
1. Consistent support from a group of peers and other professionals.
2. Knowledge from the most accessible, important research and thinking on many important issues affecting teaching and learning, especially of boys (e.g., brain function differences of boys and girls).
3. Mentoring from experienced male elementary teachers and administrators; psychologists who focus on boys and men; and other professionals. 4. Coaching on how to interact with media outlets and others who are interested in the MMEET program and related issues. 5. Opportunities to engage in specific, mini-action research projects with students, followed by a sharing of results. 6. Opportunities to inform and recruit other people, via special meetings, professional conferences, etc. 7. A stipend for attending and fully participating (discussing, reading, writing, blogging, etc.) in seminars (amount may vary according to available resources). 8. Travel expenses for those driving over 40 miles (one way) to monthly meetings.
