Tradition of Excellence

In the early 1900's, Mark Twain accepted an honorary degree from MU on the steps of Jesse Hall. In the 1950's and 1960's, A. Sterl Artley, a College of Education graduate and then professor, helped an entire generation of students learn to read through his work on the Dick and Jane book series.
