The ACC was recently awarded providing $5,625 in funding for technology upgrades and new furniture through the Student Fee Capital Improvement. With these funds we will install Phase 2 of our recording system into another interview room.

Dr. Bryana French:  Awarded as one of the 2011 Global Scholars faculty and will collaborate with faculty at the University of Western Cape for future research on sexual coercion among South African adolescents, May 18-31  

Other:

The ACC’s Interdisciplinary Child and Family Practicum held interviews for 17 applicants for practicum spots! We are pleased to have accepted practicum positions for 6 counseling psych, 1 school psych, and 3 clinical psych students—6 of whom will start this summer.

The ACC recently installed Phase 1 of their upgraded recording system which includes a control unit for recording, viewing, and storing videos and one interview room set up with a point-to-zoom camera and microphone. The system will also have the capacity to feed live/saved videos to supervisors’ desk computers and a large monitor in our student workroom for more in-depth training discussions. (Funds provided via the Innovative Interdisciplinary Funds grant; supplemental grants to move forward with upgrades are submitted).

Dr. Laurie Mintz’ book was the topic of a feature article in Psychologies Magazine, Mach 2011.  This is a magazine based in the UK.

Dr. Laurie Mintz was quoted in the March/April issue of Psychology Today Magazine.

Dr. Alex Waigandt chaired the Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship Committee.
