The Application Process

  1. Complete the online Application to the Graduate School
  2. Have 3 letters of recommendation submitted via the online graduate school application.
  3. Provide all official transcripts from all institutions where you have earned credits to: Graduate School, 210 Jesse Hall, University of Missouri-Columbia, Columbia, MO 65211, fax 573-884-5454.
  4. Submit  Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores by using institution code 6875.**
  5. If your native language is other than English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. Please send this to the Graduate School office using school code 6875.
  6. You must also provide the following supplementary materials described here  ESCP Statement and Vita Requirements via the online Application to the Graduate School.

NOTE:  Please be sure to upload all supplemental materials BEFORE you submit the application.

For applicants currently enrolled as graduate students at MU:

  1. Complete the Change of Degree Form and turn it in to 14 Hill Hall  Change of Degree.pdf
  2. Provide unofficial copies of your University of Missouri transcript to LaToya Luther in 14 Hill Hall or via email at  LutherL@missouri.edu.
  3. Your current  Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores can be used if they are 5 years old or less.  If you have retaken the GRE, have the new scores submitted to the university by using institution code 6875.
  4. Provide 3 letters of recommendation to the department by having your recommenders send them directly to LaToya Luther at  LutherL@missouri.edu or mail them to the department at 14 Hill Hall.
  5. Provide supplementary materials (described here  ESCP Statement and Vita Requirements) to LaToya Luther at  LutherL@missouri.edu.

NOTE:  If you are enrolled as a Counseling Psychology Master’s student and wish to apply for the Educational Specialist program in Counseling Psychology, please follow all of the above steps except for number 4; new recommendation letters will not be required.

**NOTE: Students applying to the online Mental Health Practices in Schools EdSp program do not need to submit GRE scores if their master’s GPA was 3.3 or better.
