Application Guidelines


The application process is completed in two stages:

(1) Complete graduate school application online
(2) Submit hard copies of requested information to the Department mailing address.

Stage One:
1. Go to the Online Graduate School Application and apply online.
2. Submit the following information to the Graduate School (address below)

a. Original copies of all college transcripts (UG and Grad)
b. Original copies of GRE (Aptitude) and TOEFL (international) results.

3. If you are a current MU graduate or undergraduate student, then skip steps 1 and 2 of stage one and complete and submit the following to the Department in a single envelope:

a. Application for Change of Degree Form - Complete this form if you are a current MU graduate student in another program.
b. Transfer of Division Form - Complete this form if you are a current MU undergraduate student.
c. The above two forms are located at the following website.
d. Include copies of all official transcripts, GRE and TOEFL (if international) results with your Departmental application materials.
e. Completing the appropriate form does not constitute admission into the departmental program, but enters your completed application into the competitive screening process.

Stage Two:
Submit the following information to the Department of Educational, School and Counseling Psychology in a single large envelope (address below)

1. Completed Departmental Application (*.pdf)

The department is no longer accepting applications for the rehabilitation counseling program.

2. Three letters of recommendation using the standardized form (*.pdf)

The three letters of recommendation must be individually sealed in separate letter size envelopes with the recommended’s signature written across the flap, and the candidates name on the front. All three individual envelopes are then placed in the single large envelope along with the completed application form and mailed to the department.


3. Supplemental documents (if any) must be included in the envelope to the Department.
4. Directly under the return address on your envelope, indicate the degree for which you are applying. (PHD, MED, MA, or EDSP). Placing this information anywhere else on the front of your envelope could delay your package.
