Research Interests
The career development of women and people of color, particularly Mexican American individuals. My research program focuses on the educational and career development of Mexican Americans. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the decision-making process and identifying those factors that facilitate and impede their achievement. I am particularly concerned with Mexican American adolescents and young adults because this is a time when they are making educational and career decisions that may significantly impact their future. I am also interested in the applications of social cognitive career theory to the career development and educational achievement of Mexican Americans. Other interests include multicultural counseling and training and gender issues.
